TWELVE
BOLD
IDEAS.

A festival for films under fifteen minutes β€” where brevity is a discipline, not a limitation.

Short on time.
Long on nerve.

SHORT! is built entirely around films that clock in under fifteen minutes, where a single sustained shot or a sharp three-minute punchline carries the same weight as a feature.

We program everything from animated fever dreams to documentary fragments to genre experiments, championing directors who treat brevity as a discipline rather than a limitation.

It's for filmmakers tired of being told their work is 'just a calling card' β€” and for audiences who'd rather see twelve bold ideas than sit through one cautious one.

The Venue

We host SHORT! at a venue to be confirmed, chosen for its quick-turnaround projection setup and a bar close enough that conversations about the last block spill straight into the next. The space favors tight, packed rooms over cavernous halls, because short films land hardest when you can hear the whole audience react at once.

DATES TBA

Submission windows, screening blocks and the awards night are being locked. Submit now via FilmFreeway and you'll be first to know.

Programme

Rapid-fire screening blocks grouped by mood, not country, each capped with a jury that interrogates directors on craft. Between sessions: live editing teardowns where filmmakers cut a scene and defend every frame. Then a closing awards night decided partly by a stopwatch-strict audience vote. Bring stamina β€” we run six to eight films back-to-back before anyone gets a break.
